Interview with Jason Dekker, CEO of Dragon Land. | By Capital | Capital | October 2021

Dear Jason Dekker, thank you for taking the time to participate in this interview with me to educate our community in the Dragon Continent. Can you give us a brief introduction? What is your story, which can be traced back to the extent you wish?

My quick background is that I started as a stock market trader when trading Internet stocks in the late 1990s. Well done, I started my own hedge fund, and reached $300 million at its peak.

Then I was the founder of a biotechnology company that was sold by a publicly traded Nasdaq company. An organic food and beverage company sold it to my former business partner.

Then I was the CEO and founder of GoChain. We successfully raised 15 million US dollars and won the Binance community’s listing vote with the biggest advantage in history. At GoChain, we cooperate with a number of Fortune 500 companies and listed companies such as Microsoft, Dish Network and Enviva. GoChain mainly uses its Chainsparency platform to shift its focus to the supply chain. They also have an NFT platform called Zeromint.

There are more, but I have a very successful business background and have been active in the blockchain encryption field for more than 6 years.

Why are you involved in the cryptocurrency industry, and where do you think the industry will be in 5-10 years?

The encryption industry is the future trend and the best solution for traditional enterprises to break the ice. According to the development of the encryption industry in the past few years, more and more traditional investments or companies have joined it. The crypto market is huge. I think the crypto market will usher in rapid development in the next 5-10 years.

marvelous. Can you tell us about the Dragon Continent and its history now?

Dragon Land is a brand new “play to earn” game, a fully immersive 3D encrypted NFT collectible game. Our goal is to create a completely decentralized community or DAO. The community will be able to verify all transactions and activities in the game and provide a level playing field for everyone. It is the intersection of game + DeFi + NFT in the Dragon ecosystem.

So how did you start using Dragon Land and why? Earlier, did you see an opportunity to fill the gap in the market?

The idea of Dragon Land comes from “How to Train Your Dragon”. The dragon has long attracted Eastern and Western cultures. Recent movies and TV shows, such as “Avatar”, “Game of Thrones”, “Lord of the Rings”, etc.

We feel that the idea of cultivating, raising and fighting dragons will attract gamers and is an exciting thing.

As for filling the gaps in the market, in fact, we have started to deploy the gamefi field in 2018 and have incubated many projects as an operating organization. In this year’s popular gamefi market, we want to use our rich experience to create a game suitable for everyone to make money while playing.

Since you started this project, what is the biggest challenge facing you and Long Dalu?

Dragon Land is developed based on BSC. As we all know, BSC is compatible with EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine). It is easy to make BSC clones of Ethereum dApp and NFT. This issue has also caused criticism from the crypto community. For example, the Binance Punks (Bunks) project is very similar to CryptoPunks on the Ethereum blockchain. Bashmasks is also considered to be the “plagiarism” of the Ethereum NFT art project Hashmasks, and Musical Beats seems to be “plagiarising” EulerBeats. Plagiarism is inevitable, but the “first-in-first” advantage brought by innovation is beyond their cognition. In addition, we will continue to optimize and update products to meet the needs of different users in the market, and provide targeted solutions on the basis of existing projects. If it is just a copy, it is difficult for them to make special improvements to the project, which is inevitable for users.

Understood. What is your biggest achievement so far? What is the biggest failure or setback in your personal or company history?

As the CEO and founder of GoChain, we successfully raised $15 million and won the Binance community’s listing vote with the biggest advantage in history

What is the next step for Long Dalu in the next 1-2 years?
