Since we are Spend more time In a video call, Apple has decided to provide the FaceTime application on more devices. With the launch of iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and macOS Monterey this year, you can join FaceTime calls from a web browser, which is also open to Android and Windows users.
The key word here is “join”. Apple has not yet enabled users to initiate FaceTime calls or access contact lists from non-Apple devices. There is no official FaceTime app for Android or similar software-just a simple web interface that you can jump to from any device running a browser.
With the updated iOS, iPadOS, and macOS software, you will also notice other improvements in the FaceTime application: now you can use the Zoom-style grid interface, and the background of the call is blurred. However, the most important change is the ability to join calls from any device, and it is not difficult.
Start a FaceTime call
As we said, you still need an iPhone, iPad or Mac to actually start a FaceTime call-you can’t start a video chat from Android or Windows yet.Load FaceTime on your Apple device, instead of entering a number or email address as usual to initiate a contact, choose Create link Options.
You will then get multiple options to share this link (click Add name Give it a suitable name. ) For example, you can copy it to the clipboard or send it to another application, such as “message” or “mail.” If you don’t share it immediately, it will still be displayed on the front screen of the FaceTime app, so you can share it later if you want.
Anyone you provide this link can join your FaceTime call-no password protection or login is required, but you can approve the request when you join the call. Each link you create remains active until you delete it, you can click the information button next to the link and select Delete link.
You can join the call by clicking the link you created, and then select join inWhen other participants click on the link you shared, you will see a pop-up reminder asking if you are willing to accept them. If someone clicks the link before you actually initiate the call from your end, they will see a waiting page (and you will receive an alert stating that they are trying to join).
Join a FaceTime call
If you join a FaceTime call from a non-Apple device, the process is very simple: click the FaceTime link you got, and you should see the FaceTime interface loaded in the default web browser (note that at this time, only Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge supports FaceTime calls).
