The strict mode template RFC started community discussion in June 2019 and was recently accepted by the Ember core team. 🎉 You can read the RFC Learn more about the proposed changes and motivation.
At a high level, “strict mode” (terms may change) is optional, but is intended to be the main way Ember users write templates.Once strict mode is implemented (this may take time), the core team and plugin developers can start experimenting A better way to support development workflow. Experimental functions, such as Template import with Single file componentBased on strict mode, further design and iteration are still needed to make suggestions and recommendations to you.
In short, you don’t need to worry about immediate changes. This is an exciting change and worth looking forward to, because Ember has been using Handlebars for more than 8 years, and since then we have learned how to improve its language. In the meantime, we encourage you to check Strict Mode Template RFC!
