Oddly, I find after a few pints, I can taste bananas.
Go figure.
Absolutely - After a pint or 6 I inevitably have a hankering for something dubious in a pitta with lots of chili sauce rather than a bag of Maltesers
CBI,
What on earth are you drinking?
Jams,
I hadn't made that connection - but alcohol does increase your desire for something savoury (if not healthy), doesn't it.
I find I can manage about two vodka (or whisky) and cokes before the coke becomes to sweet for me. After another two or so I can't even deal with cranberry as a mixer. My desire for something greasy usually isn't too bad though. Although that might have something to do with being vegetarian.
Same here. Probably because beer raises the blood sugar a fair bit, and at the same time leads to dehydration and loss of salt (most of it getting pissed away). Hence the hankering for the salty goodness of a cuzza or kebab.
Generally herring goes better with a (serious) drink than a cake, I have noticed.
Actually I'm a vegetarian too Matt. It just sunded better to talk about a Doner than a tofu burger!
Jams,
I remembered that shortly after commenting. But I've found that my desire for greasy food has seriously decreased since I stopped eating meat...
